Freelance Feature Writer & Editor

Self-employed

I write features, interviews and news stories for titles including The Sun, The Mirror, Daily Mail, The Independent, The Guardian, The Telegraph, The Express, The People, Red, Marie Claire, Grazia, Look, Fabulous, new!, Hello!, OK!, Candis, Best, Woman's Own and Woman.

Outside journalism, I am a content editor for brands and charities — writing commercial and marketing copy, blogs, press releases, case studies and social media posts, as well as website copy.

I am also a published author and ghostwriter. My latest book, Taylor in Love, was published by Penguin in February 2026.

As part of a small charity, I managed social media platforms, website content, blog and communications, and wrote fundraising bids and proposals for global donors.

As Acting Editorial Manager, I managed a team of 13 writers on a freelance basis, overseeing editorial output across all consumer-facing content for the travel brand.

Hearst Magazines

I edited Hearst's BestDaily website on a freelance basis, covering celebrity news, health, beauty and fashion. This required thorough knowledge of Content Management Systems, social media strategy and SEO best practice.

Star Magazine — Northern & Shell

As Editor of the women's weekly Star, I led a team of 25 and was responsible for editing and planning content across more than 100 pages each week. This involved commissioning features, managing strict budgets, implementing sales strategies, working closely with Advertising, and liaising with PRs.

Prior to becoming Editor, I held the roles of News Editor, Assistant Editor and Deputy Editor at the same title between 2004 and 2011.
